Our Bleu d’Auvergne sausage has a softer texture and the delightful aftertaste of blue cheese. These sausages make an excellent accompaniment to a glass of Ruby Port or fine wine. The ironic thing about our Bleu d’Auvergne sausage, is that we sell it to people who don’t even like blue cheese! This is probably due to the fact that it’s blue cheese taste is only prevalent as an aftertaste. Bleu d’Auvergne, is a young blue cheesemade from cows milk from the cows that graze on the rich green pastures of the slopes of old volcanoes in the region of Puy-de-dôme.
Composition of Bleu d’Auvergne sausage
These sausages are composed of pork meat and added herbs. The addition of Bleu d’Auvergne gives the sausages a lovely blue cheese after taste. As with all our sausages, the outside can also be consumed. The outside layer is made of pork intestine. Completely natural and edible. The sausages weigh between 160 grams and 180 grams.
What is the ideal moment to eat these sausages?
The sausages can be eaten at many moments throughout the day, Breakfast, brunch or lunch. We think they really come into their own when having a drink at the end of the day. Perfect with a glass of wine and some olives or some cheese on the side. The sausages are not just for every day consumption but are popular as a small gift to family, friends or clients.
Allergies
All our sausages are 100% gluten free with the exception of our fried onion sausages. The sausages are not lactose free and all are sausages can contain traces of nuts.How long will the sausages remain edible? The sausages are edible for a minimum of 2 months. They are best kept out of the fridge in a dark, dry place. You could hang-up the sausages in your kitchen, pantry or cellar, check out our hanging display system. When sliced, the sausages remain good for 4 to 6 weeks.
